"For as long as I can remember, words have been my way of shaping thoughts into something tangible. At times, music carried that weight — though it has been years since melody and narrative truly intertwined for me.
Now, with photography for the past 15+ years, I have long embraced beauty for beauty’s sake, a pursuit I will never abandon, for better or worse. Yet, beneath that, a quiet pull remains — the urge to reach deeper, to forge something that lingers in the minds of those who take the time to see, to feel. At least that's my wish.
Art is an offering, but it is also a risk. If I refuse that risk, I deny not only myself but those who trust in what I create.
Veladura is my answer to that risk. A step — tentative, yet certain — toward something more. The exploration and dissemination, if you will, of the commodification of desire in an otherwise vacuous society, in culture. Whether it will be understood, whether it will fulfill its purpose, I do not yet know. Regardless, just know I am proud of this one."

Veladura is an experience, one that I encourage you to partake in. Each hardbound example is printed with the same care as the images within, meant to be held, studied, and cherished. To ensure you receive your book in the way that best suits your connection to it, there are three ordering options:
- Essential Edition – Printed to perfection and shipped directly to you, ready to be enjoyed.
- Collector Edition – Elevated with a high density clear acrylic sleeve, adding an extra layer of presence, protection and display before it is shipped directly to you.
- Artist Edition – The ultimate presentation: a clear acrylic-sleeved, hand-signed copy of Veladura featuring an edition specific textured overprint emblem on the cover, plus a unique, hand-signed art print of a Veladura sessions one-off work entitled "Aegis Vestige" – mounted with a custom mat – before it all finds its place in your hands.
All editions are 12x16in (30x40cm) hardbound cover, with premium stock inner pages.
However you choose to bring Veladura into your space, know that you are not simply purchasing another coffee table book — you are investing in work done with intention, in the weight of light and shadow, in a collection of moments meant to be questioned as much as seen. Please note, the work in this book contains artistic nudity.
How Veladura is Produced & Delivered
Unlike typical online orders that ship immediately, Veladura is a fine art book made to order. When you place your order through my website, you’re not just purchasing a book — you’re initiating the process of its creation.
Once your order is submitted, I personally send the production request to Floricolor in Portugal, where each copy is printed with care. From there, fulfillment depends on the edition you choose:
- Essential & Collector Editions (not signed) are shipped directly from Floricolor to you anywhere worldwide — I do not handle these copies, as they are expedited by my printing partners. These are generally shipped to you within 2 weeks of the production request being sent in.
- Artist Edition (hand-signed book and art print) are first shipped to me, where I personally sign them before sending them to their final destination. These are generally shipped to you within 4 weeks of the production request being sent in.
This process ensures that every copy of Veladura is handled with intention, whether it comes to you directly from the printer or passes through my hands first. If you choose a signed edition, know that it is one of a limited number, personally signed by me.
Ensure that your shipping address is accurately input into your account/order to ensure no errors on shipment.
If you have any questions about the process, don’t hesitate to reach out — nino@ninobatista.com – this is a work from my heart, and I want the experience of receiving it to reflect that.
