Hurricane and COVID recovery + new work with Steph

Hurricane and COVID recovery + new work with Steph

So I didn't intend to take a break from the ol' journal, but July was a helluva month.  Hurricane Beryl hit the gulf coast, and I live in Houston.  So, we had a sudden extended power and internet loss, which was bad enough for me but a LOT of folks on gulf coast were without for far longer.  I am grateful it wasn't worse for me, but I was just gutted about everyone suffering for as long as they had to. We are used to hurricanes here, but that's not to say they don't sometimes kick our ass.

After hurricane recovery mostly wrapped, I discovered I was sick. So, after I had suspicions, I got tested for COVID and yep – nailed.  Been a while since I had it, but nonetheless I was down for the count for several days.  Contracting COVID again after the hurricane aftermath made me realize how eternally grateful I am that I didn't have the virus during the hurricane and during the power outage timeframe.  I shudder to think of dealing with that!

Anyway, I had to move some projects and scheduled trips to later in the year, and some into 2025.  Recovering from the wild July is gonna take a little time, between the literal time lost and other delays coupled with just being physically and mentally worn out!   No worries, though, as I will be using August to catch up (and try to rest a bit too) and everything is back on schedule in September.

I managed to do a shoot with Stephanie Joy before I got sick, and I've enjoyed editing while at home quarantined and recovering.  Below are some shots from the project from mid July.
