"Batshit artist" mode: engaged.

In recent years, I’ve learned that my art is not merely about capturing a moment — it’s about capturing the essence of a journey, both mine and that of every soul who steps into frame. I am trying to become, first and foremost, a storyteller of life’s most intimate truths. Each portrait I create is (ideally) a milestone on a path of self-discovery, a reflection of the passion and vulnerability that I hold dear.

My creative process is born from a deep, personal commitment to authenticity. I have traveled many roads — sometimes solitary, sometimes shared, sometimes sincere, sometimes confused — to arrive at the understanding that my art is not a service or a transaction. It is an ongoing conversation between the spirit of the artist and the heart of the subject. I cherish every moment of this collaboration, knowing that without trust, without a shared vision, the work loses all of its soul.

I hold profound respect for those who invite me into their lives and allow me to reveal their inner world. Yet, I have also recently come to understand that my vision is – in a word – non-negotiable. I am driven by a creative calling that demands honesty from both myself and those I work with. I seek out collaborations where passion, rather than obligation, guides our joint endeavor. To work without that alignment would be to betray the very essence of my evolved journey — a journey defined by its unwavering commitment to what resonates deeply within me – and no longer about what I think I should be doing.

In this light, I do not see myself as simply available to execute someone else’s vision. I follow a path that honors my artistic integrity, choosing to invest my heart and soul only when our creative desires are in harmony. If our visions converge, then together we create something that is both powerful and true. If not, I must remain true to the call of my own artistic journey.

This isn’t about control, nor is it about stubbornness. It’s about nurturing the delicate balance between inspiration and expression — a balance that I believe is essential to crafting work that endures. For me, art is a lifelong pursuit of beauty, truth, and connection. I've wasted a lot of time, and I continue to walk this path with the hope of inspiring those who, like me, are on their own journey of discovery.
